The IVF PGD treatment

How does it work ?

Undergoing an IVF treatment, you must prepare by undergoing diagnostics and using medication. The diagnostic part is the so called pre treatment. This can legally be done in The Netherlands. During this part, the growing follicles are monitored with ultra sound scans. As soon as they are big enough, you can leave for the clinic abroad where the real treatment will be done.

Depending on the moment of your arrival abroad, you will meet the clinics team and you will get further information about the rest of the procedure. Follicles will be taken away and fertilized. The egg cells will grow up to embryos to be ready for the PGD screening. That is the moment the sex of the embryo will be dertemined. Further there is a screening for the most common genetic disorders.

After a few days, an average of 3 embryos are transferred back into the Uterus. That's all. After that you can go home. The rest of the pregnancy is not different from a natural pregnancy.

Please read the average pregnancy rates in relation to ages.
